As we head into the Summer Term, I would like to highlight to you that as a Church of England school, we have a ‘theologically rooted Christian vision’ for our school. This is based on the ‘Parable of the Mustard Seed’, which you can find on our website here:

https://parkstreet.cambs.sch.uk/christian-distinctiveness/

Park Street C of E Primary School is a small school that has a large effect on those who come here. We teach the children and we learn that small deeds and individual beings can have large and consequential effects on the world in which we live. The mustard seed of Park Street grows to become a sustaining, protecting and invigorating environment for all who ‘lodge’ here, before they travel onwards, taking all they have learned and experienced with them.

To help our ‘mustard seed’ grow, we also have six values, that all children and adults seek to demonstrate and follow: honesty and respect, friendship and kindness, learning and fun.

This vision and these values underpin our whole community, which includes parents! As a small school we are reliant on all of us to give a small amount of time, money or consideration to helping our community on which we all rely – having a big effect on the success of our school as a whole. It might be volunteering for the road closure, helping the PTA (we have a ‘spruce-up’ day coming up on Saturday May 16th, to which you might be able to give some time), helping the stories project, helping walk the children to swimming or King’s College School, volunteering to hear readers – there are many opportunities! I urge you all to please consider if you could help with something. When I first came to Park Street, over six years ago, we had a very dedicated group of parents who did a great deal. As time has gone on, and their children have left, we need a few more people to step up as replacements! I know that everybody is extremely challenged for time these days, but in the spirit of the ‘mustard seed’, if more people did a little, it could make a big difference!

There are more details of how you can help, and how to donate, on the PTA webpage here:
