Parents and Carers were informed on 3rd October by email that I am extremely unlikely to be able to authorise absence from school in term time.  If children are absent from school for longer than three days, in unauthorised circumstances,  I have to submit a request for a fixed penalty notice to be issued. The fixed penalty is £60 per child per parent. The code of conduct for this, issued by the Local Authority is available from the office. Please make every effort to ensure that visits abroad for any reason take place in school holiday time. If you need to make a request, please obtain and complete the correct form from the office in advance of making any bookings.

We believe good attendance is when children attend at least 97% of the school year. This equates to attending at least 185 of the 190 days when school is open to pupils. This is only 5 days off for the full academic year, incurred through sickness. We monitor attendance regularly. If your child’s attendance drops below 90%, under Government guidelines, this means that they are classed as a ‘persistent absentee’ and we will write to you to invite you to discuss the reasons for this.
