On Wednesday, Eagle Class made some periscope-style spectroscopes, donated by the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge. They learned about how light can be split into different wavelengths, which are different colours. Mrs Hawker also explained how different elements can be distinguished in space and on other planets, by the colour of the light coming from them. Eagle Class showed the spectroscopes to the Owl Class children, who enjoyed looking at the rainbows inside them!
