Welcome to The Park Street School PTA
The Parent Teacher Association is a committee of parents and staff, which supports the work of the school by providing:
- activities which will foster and develop relationships between staff, parents, governors and others associated with the school
- support for educational and social activities for children in order to enrich and extend the opportunities which can be made available
- funds for a range of additional resources
Fundraising at Park Street
At Park Street, fundraising is about more than just raising money; it’s about creating opportunities, enriching our children’s experience, and building a strong, connected school community.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us bring ideas to life, from improving school spaces to supporting events, resources, and wellbeing initiatives.
Support Us with a Regular Donation
We’ve made it easier than ever to support the school through regular monthly donations.
Regular giving helps us:
- Plan ahead with confidence
- Deliver bigger, longer-term projects
- Make the most of Gift Aid, increasing the value of every donation
Even a small monthly amount can make a big difference over time. Funds raised support key initiatives such as:
- Enhancing learning environments
- Funding new resources and equipment
- Supporting enrichment activities for all pupils
If you’re able to contribute, we are incredibly grateful, and if not, sharing the link with friends, family, or local businesses makes a huge impact too.
About the PTA
The committee meets once every half term. We have some formal positions – Chair, Secretary and Treasurer – as well as any other interested parents. The current committee is:
- Chair: Katrina Thornely
- Treasurer: Teresa Leone
- Secretary: Madiha Khan
All the meetings are open to any parent who wants to attend. We re-elect the PTA committee each autumn, and are always interested in recruiting new members. It is a great way for parents to get involved in the school in a very positive way, as well as being very sociable. Information can be obtained from any of the committee members.
We host a variety of events/activities for both fundraising and community:
- Monthly coffee mornings for all parents to meet with the PTA
- Welcome tea for the new joining parents
- Pre-Loved Uniform Sale
- The Annual Park Street Bake Off
- Christmas cards
- KS2 Karaoke Night
- School Discos
- Santa’s Visit
- Christmas Fair

- Summer Fair
- Support at Sports Day
We are always looking for new suggestions, so please get in touch and join the Friends of Park Street community.

The Park Street Story Project – Library Fundraising
We are currently raising funds for our Park Street Story Project, an exciting initiative to refurbish and restock the school libraries and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Our goal is to raise £20,000 to:
- Transform our library spaces into inspiring, welcoming environments
- Provide a wide range of high-quality, engaging books
- Launch a “Year of Reading” across the school
- Create opportunities for children to discover and share their own stories
This project sits at the heart of our 150th anniversary celebrations in 2027, helping us honour the school’s history while investing in its future.

Other ways to help Park Street School
Save As You Shop
Easyfundraising: We’ve registered Friends of Park Street C of E Primary School with #easyfundraising, which means over 4,000 shops and sites will now donate to us for FREE every time you use #easyfundraising to shop with them.
These donations will help SO MUCH, so please sign up to support us – it’s completely FREE and doesn’t take long.
Schoolfunds: We have also updated our Schoolfunds account, which is another portal you can use for your shopping while giving back to the school. Just click on the links and follow the steps to connect your accounts.
Teachers’ Wish List
Several parents have contacted us asking how they can thank our hard-working teachers for everything they do for us and our children. We asked the teachers and TAs what kinds of things they would find most useful for their classrooms and they’ve put together an Amazon Wish List of their top picks, from playdough to books. Pre-Loved School Clothing Store
The PTA also oversees a second-hand clothing shop for Park Street-branded PE items. Sales are held once a year, but items can be requested throughout the year. Please email pta@parkstreet.cambs.sch.uk for information on how to donate and/or purchase.
