Everybody has had a wonderful day today, taking part in art activities linked to our Vision. This is inspired by the ‘Parable of the Mustard Seed’:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”
In Collective Worship we discussed how this is a good parable for Park Street, because although we are a small school, our children can go out into the world and do great things!
The three workshops explored:
- how the ‘Big Bang’ may have started with a tiny speck that expanded to create the universe
- how seeds for different plants and trees germinate and grow big
- and a variety of birds which could lodge in the branches of the tree
