Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have had a good week, despite the changes announced on Sunday! It has been very quiet in school and we have really missed the Key Stage Two children (+2) and their teachers. All being well, we are really hopeful that they will return on Monday!

We have a very busy few weeks leading up to the end of term. Next week, Owl Class will be going on a trip to ‘Orchard Yurt’ on Thursday. Key Stage Two will be having their assessments in the morning, which had to be postponed from this week. All classes will also be following their Relationships and Sex Education programme of lessons, mostly in the afternoons – please have a look on your child’s Microsoft Team, to find out what they will be learning about. Letters were emailed out about this a few weeks ago – please check for important information that was sent in these.

The week beginning 5th July is our ‘Enrichment Week’, and all classes will be out of school as much as possible, even if it is just for activities on Jesus Green. Letters will be sent out today giving you details about who is doing what, when! The longer, off-site trips will all be on your Arbor account at midday today, so you can see them and pay for them there. Please read the information carefully, particularly those of you with children in more than one class! It has been wonderful to plan the week – we very much hope that nothing happens to interfere with these activities.

In the current situation, we will not be having a traditional ‘Sport’s Day’ this year. Children will have various PE afternoons in the Enrichment week, but keeping in their bubbles. These have not been designed for an audience, and we are very wary of encouraging ‘congregations’ of parents at the moment so sadly you will not be able to come and watch. We will be having a ‘Leavers’ Service’ at Great St Marys, which will be attended by only the Key Stage Two children – again, we are not able to invite parents. The service will be filmed, so you will be able to see at least highlights on the school website. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience regarding these matters – hopefully all will be back to normal in September!

Best wishes,

Sarah Hawker
