Last week I mentioned that we are using Learning Ladders again this year, to assess your children. You are able to access this, to see the objectives on which your child is currently working. Please have a look at this video for parents, which explains how to access the system and how you can find useful information about your child’s progress. There is also guidance for how you might be able to help your child at home, and articles explaining topics followed at school in English and maths. All of the information is available in a very wide variety of languages, if this would be helpful for you – the video explains how to access the translations. Everybody should now have received an email inviting you to access ‘Ladders at Home’ – please check your junk folder, in case it is in there. As stated in the video, research projects have shown that:
“What parents do with their children at home is much more significant than any other factor open to educational influence” (Desforges and Abouchaar, 2003)
Please let me know, by emailing the office, if you need help accessing the system.
