Art, Amazon Rainforest, Wildlife and Zoom Quizzes!

Please have a look at the photographs of the final results of the art lessons that have been taking place over the past two weeks. The Woodpeckers and Eagles have been learning to use different technique with watercolour paints.  The detailed wildlife paintings of the Amazon Rainforest, by the Woodpeckers are varied and colourful, and the Space pictures by the Eagles make excellent use of washes to create the effect of mysterious planets.

Despite the fact that we are unable to visit exhibitions or to have experts visit us in person at present, Nigel Moorhouse, our Chair of Governors, gave the Woodpeckers an interesting talk about Wildlife Classification via Teams on Thursday.  Thank you very much, Nigel, for enriching the class’ knowledge about this. It was wonderful to see so many families joining in with the Zoom quiz, yesterday.  A great deal of fun was had by everybody!  There were about twenty teams altogether – congratulations to the Storming Stevensons, who came first with 62 points, followed by the Cosmo the Guinea Pig team (the Harding family) in second place with 61 points, and the Quiz Whizzes (The Dominiak family with a little hindrance from Mrs Hawker) who came third with 60 points. Please see the photographs below of the half-time challenge (dressing up a team member to look like the painting “Lady with an Ermine” by Leonardo di Vinci).

The following photographs are the condiment challenge – painting your team using condiments from your food cupboard!
